Non-Profit 501(c)(3) Websites
Before you start the hunt for someone to build your non-profit website, trust me, unless you have a volunteer who can do it for free, it will be to your advantage to have some kind of budget in mind and a pretty good idea of how and when that cash will be showing up.
If you already have sponsors and/or donors and a non-profit bank account, you’re ahead of the game!
If you haven’t had a chance to put together a budget or open a bank account, I have Good News for you!
Many website designers (including myself) will provide our services at a discounted rate, specifically for non-profits.
Wallis Williams Design and Marketing is currently donating design and website marketing services to
The San Luis Obispo Blues Society
a 501(c)(3) non profit
Additionally, when the organization provides me with an outline of their intended website content, along with specific, copyright-free selected images, and optimistically, the goals of the website, I can offer a non-profit rate of $80/hour.*
*My “non-profit” rate is offered exclusively to organizations with goals I support and a mission I can believe in.
If you have experience working with a website designer and/or marketing firm, you already know there are quite a few details involved when building a new, custom website.
Does your website need to meet ADA requirements?
Are you selecting fonts that match all your marketing materials?
Do you know how to correctly add headers to your website for recommended site optimization?
Is your design mobile friendly?
Will your intended site hierarchy be easy for your website visitor to understand?
Do you have a bank account in order to connect to a payment processing service in order to collect donations?
Have you purchased a domain name?
Did you know that your domain name does not automatically include an email address?
Do you have an action plan for promoting your new website once it’s completed?
The process of designing and building a non-profit website is far more complicated than you might think.
When putting together your timeline, consider that it will save your organization time and money to get all the information put together before the website launches, rather than to be in a panic to correct something during or after it launches.
I welcome a conversation with you
